At first, they were using a clunky WooCommerce workflow that did not allow them to track inventory, automate with QuickBooks, or deliver a seamless user experience for their customers. Not to mention, they completely lacked a voice since they had no sense of brand recognition, as their original branding was generic and mismatched.

After understanding their needs, I transferred them to Shopify, which allowed them to begin tracking inventory, integrate with QuickBooks online, automate marketing/order tracking emails, create team-specific password-protected stores, and most importantly automate menial tasks that they were doing by hand, such as writing receipts.

Starting from the ground up, it was important for the owner to stand out from her competition, so we went with a minimalist approach for their branding. Additionally, I wanted to effectively communicate their voice through their branding; women-run, excellent customer service, competitive prices, and most importantly, swim team dealer.

I went with a light concept that uses negative space to make a huge impact while maintaining a somewhat minimal feel. It was important for me to use blue to symbolize water because they sell swim gear, and to not detract from the accent color, I went with a grayscale for headings and body text.
